Network Challenge
Managing the growing quantity and density of fiber patch cords can become a chronic cable management challenge as an optical network grows.
Ill-conceived fiber cable management can negatively impact network operations, particularly if they compromise best practices for strain-relief, bend-radius protection and minimally disruptive maintenance access.
Wirewerks’ Innovative Patent Pending Solution
Wirewerks’ new Cable Management Tray (CMT) provides two key capabilities and benefits to network operators:
First, the CMT introduces a new, patent pending cable management design that delivers improved fiber strain-relief and reduced fiber disruption, resulting in better protection for individual fibers and increased reliability.
Second, the CMT’s innovative design increases fiber slack storage capacity in 1RU, maximizing valuable rack space in headends and data centers.
The CMT’s increased capacity eliminates slack storage issues in vertical managers, and provides horizontal cable management and routing with cable entry/exit on both sides of the enclosure. The CMT’s innovative features allow network managers to service their fiber patching requirements with a simplified inventory of standard-length patch cords, eliminating potential provisioning and quality/performance issues.
